David Perkins

Director of Technical Services

David Perkins is the Director of Technical Services at McCarl’s Technical Services, bringing over 30 years of leadership across the manufacturing, mining, and metals sectors. Based in Beaver Falls, PA, David oversees engineering, design, and procurement teams, with a strategic focus on expanding design-build opportunities and managing core client relationships. Throughout his career at industry-leading organizations like U.S. Bureau of Mines, Alcoa, Freeport-McMoRan, and Derrick Corporation, he has developed a reputation for a cost-effective approach to problem-solving that prioritizes increased capacity, maximized recovery, and environmental sustainability.

A dual-patent holder, David has made significant contributions to the industry, including the development of a novel aluminum sheet manufacturing process and innovative gold recovery technology. He holds a B.S. in Metallurgical Engineering from the Missouri University of Science and Technology and is a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, a credential that informs his passion for operational efficiency. David is an active leader within the Society for Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration (SME) and AIST. David also serves on the Missouri S&T Mines and Metallurgy Academy and chairs multiple award and scholarship committees, underscoring a strong commitment to the growth and advancement of the metallurgical profession.
